19.03.07 Because we have recently received an invitation to participate in a seminar being conducted March 16-25 in Moscow and Pushkino by Masashi Wakayama sensei, we are hurrying to respond to questions that are arising as to the status of the event.

According to the official response sent to the international department of AARF by AIKIKAI Hombu Dojo:
a) the event is a private, unofficial seminar;
b) the Director of the international department of AIKIKAI has checked the registration of M. Wakayama sensei and determined that he does not have 5th Dan aikido ranking, but 3rd Dan (this contradicts the information being disseminated that he has 5th Dan ranking as stated by head of "SC Gibkiy Put' (Flexible Path) Martial Arts" S. Khromov http://www.sv-holding.ru);
c) M. Wakayama has not received permission to conduct seminars or attestations in Russia, so any exams conducted by him would be considered invalid.

19.03.07 On March 11 Koinobori held another of its annual Interdojo Aikido AIKIKAI Youth Seminars. More than 70 youngsters between 5 and 14 years old participated. They included aikidoki training in the youths sections of Koinobori Dojo in Moscow and Krasnogorsk, the Koinobori branch "Aikido Center", as well as groups from aikido dojos "Zolotoi Drakon" ("Golden Dragon") in Fryazino, "Gibkiy Put'" ("Flexible Path"), and "Yorokobi". Following tradition, the seminar was led by 3 instructors: Nataliya Bereslavskaya (3rd Dan, Koinobori Dojo, Moscow), Dmitri Kundin (3rd Dan, "Zolotoi Drakon", Fryazino), and Oleg Duma (1st Dan, Koinobori Dojo branch "Aikido Center", Moscow). The training session included separate entertainment segments, one for the younger participants and one for the older ones. The children and teens also had the chance to pair off with adult aikidoka, since adults from all the participating dojos came to train, too. The seminar concluded with demonstrations by the youth's groups, and then by the instructors who led the seminar.
