Mr. Naomi NOMURA, 6 Dan AIKIKAIThe founder and
chief instructor of "AYUKAI" Dojo, Japan.
Started practicing
Aikido in 1982 while studying at the Faculty of the Russian Language
at the University
of Foreign Studies, Osaka. In 1984 headed the University Aikido Club. During 1985 was
traveling around Europe with Hirokazu Kobayashi shihan, taking part
in his seminars. In 1986 continued to study Aikido at AIKIKAI Hombu
Dojo.
First came to Russia in
1989. In 1990 — 1991 studied Russian at the Moscow State Lomonosov
University. All this time he continued active Aikido practice and
taught Aikido at different Moscow clubs, including regular morning
classes at Koinobori Dojo. Nomura-san influenced the development of
Aikido in Moscow greatly. The result of exhausting classes under his
direction was not only in the growth of technical level of
practitioners. Thanks to his impartial and respectful attitude to
all who sincerely strove to practice and learn actively, he managed
to break the barrier that prevented the representatives of different
Moscow Aikido schools from communicating and practicing together. In
1997 Nomura-san was awarded 5 Dan in Aikido, resigned from
"Kobe Steel" company and returned to his country to Hirono
(Imajo-cho, Fukui prefecture), where he founded "AYUKAI"
dojo and started teaching Aikido and fencing according to
Shinkage-ryu school.
Many of Nomura-san's
Moscow friends and students later successfully practiced in Japan
both at Hombu Dojo and at "AYUKAI".
